We're committed to supporting organisations who make a difference. Our Community Donation Program gives local branches and customer facing teams the chance to donate $500 to organisations making a difference in our communities.
About the program

During July 2022, CommBank donated over $350,000 to organisations within local communities across Australia. Every CommBank branch and customer-facing team were given $500 to donate to an organisation of their choice. Here are some of our 2022 recipients and the amazing work they do.
Bayside Men’s Shed
Rockdale Branch, New South Wales
The Bayside Men’s Shed provides opportunities for men from all walks of life- skilled and unskilled, to come together to share time with each other, swap yarns and work together on community projects. The Bayside Men’s Shed also raised $1,000 from their own members to help flood affected areas.
The Rockdale Branch team were thrilled to have the opportunity to present their Community Donation to the Bayside Men’s Shed and to view the projects the group are working on.
The Guthrie Collective
Wagga Wagga Branch, New South Wales
The Guthrie Collective (TGC) is a family-run organisation based in Wagga Wagga, who have a genuine passion for quality of life and delivering creative and fun-filled support to people with a disability.
The Wagga Wagga branch were proud to present to the group who were excited to receive a Community Donation. There were a number of ideas on how the donation will assist TGC with achieving their vision of ‘living life to the fullest’. Ideas included hosting a Christmas lunch, a vision-impaired tandem bike, gym equipment, board games with vision inclusivity, or a projector to host friends and family movie nights.
The Animal Rehoming Service Inc.
Brighton Branch, Victoria
The Animal Rehoming Service Inc.(TARS) finds loving and permanent homes for animals where they can be rehomed, adopted, fostered and provided healthcare as needed. The organisation has found homes for over 5,000 animals of every description since it was established in 2000. TARS provides continuous support and advice to those adopting their new ‘fur babies’.
TARS is using the donation to assist with costs related to food, shelter and the medical care of animals, as all animals are desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before being rehomed.
Ocean Grove Toy Library
Ocean Grove Branch, Victoria
Ocean Grove Toy Library is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation run by and for the families of Ocean Grove and its neighbouring areas.
The Toy Library provides enjoyable and cost friendly learning experiences with a variety of high quality specialised toys for young children. The Toy Library is a welcoming space for families to engage with others and to feel connected to the community. They endeavour to provide a pleasurable and valuable service at minimal cost.
The Ocean Grove branch were delighted to present their donation which will be put towards updating their popular birthday ‘party packs’ and purchasing toys like soft tunnels and sensory mats.
Volunteer Marine Rescue
Bribie Island Branch, Queensland
Volunteer Marine Rescue Bribie Island is comprised 100% of volunteers who provide a boat rescue service 365 days a year/24 hours a day. They work closely with all other Emergency Services to ensure safety at sea.
They also promote and support boating safety by arranging training and education programs.
The Bribie Island Branch team were so happy to provide their $500 donation to this amazing group, who work so hard for the local community
WA Gould League
Karrinyup Branch, Western Australia
The WA Gould League is a not-for-profit, independent environmental organisation that educates people to understand, appreciate and protect the environment. It maintains strong relationships with WA schools with over 7,500 students annually experiencing its environmental education programs.
The Karrinyup Branch were delighted to present their Community Donation to the organisation who operate the nearby Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre.
Life Education SA Inc.
Northpark Branch, South Australia
Life Education SA provides children and young people with the knowledge and skills required to make safe decisions about their health and wellbeing. This is achieved through school based programs by engaging children in age appropriate discussions with their mascot Harold the giraffe on healthy lifestyles, good nutrition, physical activity, respectful friendships, alcohol, drugs and smoking and online safety.
